“Jesus Meet N Greet”

The simple gospel message is presented in a fresh, yet Biblical, way for friends who are visiting the Tailgate Party. Our membership vows include accepting Jesus as both Savior and Lord. Jesus wants to know you.

“It’s Who Ya’ Know”

John 17:15, Matthew 7:21-23

Toward the beginning of Jesus’ final prayer over his disciples after the last Supper he says, “Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.” Since eternal life is possibly the most important thing we can have, it might be worth looking at what it means to know God and Jesus.

“He’s just a Poor Man with Money”

Luke 18:18-30 & 19:1-10

Two well-known stories are the Rich Young Ruler and a rich tax collector named Zacchaeus. Both were wealthy, but one became poor and the other became richer. Interestingly, these two stories are sandwich the story of a poor blind beggar who became possibly the richest of the three.

“Left Behind: the Non-fiction Version”

Luke 17:20-37

Left Behind: is a series of 16 best-selling novels by Tim LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins dealing with the dispensationalist, pre-tribulation, pre-millennial, eschatological interpretation of the Biblical apocalypse. Whew! So says Wikipedia. As we move from last week’s “personal end of time on earth,” what does the Bible say about the end of time on earth for everyone?

“What’s It Like Immediately After We Die?”

Luke 16:19-31

I skipped over the Shred Manager story because I already preached on that, and I landed on this bombshell. Theologians have been arguing over this question for centuries. The more important issue is why Jesus told this story at this point and how important it is to our own personal eschatology. Oops! I mean to our own end of time on earth.

“The Lost Chapter”

Luke

We’re into what theologians call “The Luke Interlude” – stories/teachings of Jesus that Luke found in his research that are not found in the other 3 Gospels (books in the Bible about Jesus’ life). Chapter 15 is about 3 lost things – a sheep, a coin, a prodigal son. These stories are so familiar. What else is there to learn here? Have you ever seen rejoicing that explodes throughout heaven? Maybe there is something here yet to learn?
